The Memory Of Waso

All of Burmese people are fond of The Traditional Donation Ceremonies there are seasonal donation ceremonies the whole year around in Burma. I have been living in Japan nearly 17 years  but I never forget and always remember the mem     ories of my life in native country especially every Traditional Ceremony times.

Month of July is Waso in Burmese calendar which is Burmese Buddhist Lenten Period for 3months. Lord Buddha do not allow all of monks to make the journey for Lenten Season. Because all of farmers are beginning to start their agricultural works. As a result, monks walk across the fields to spoil the crops and insets. So, all of monks have been practicing the meditation in their monasteries during Lenten Period.

This month July, there is held the ceremony that the offering of the robes to monks and picking the lovely wildflowers to offer the pagodas.  And there is also celebrated the serving party to cheer and respect the  great month.

Month of Waso is the holiest day of all of Buddhist in Burma indeed. When so many years went by, this reminds me of my lovely childhood such as Waso Ceremony, picking of flowers festival and family gathering.. I`m always waiting the chance that I will be back my beloved country together with my company oneday.
